Big Boot Program 2026-2027

Our Mission has never vollied! We have to remember our Past, Present, and future veterans along with immediate family members.  For every 22 veterans across the land of the free and our brave we lose 5-6 immediate family members
of those that surrender to the battle within.
The Veterans Administration has our average at 17 a day which is a significant impact since 2016.  When our comrades stood before Congress demand they change the process, our Veterans Stood by our
comrades’ sides and began the march.  Simply,
opening chains of communications for our comrades with a buddy check.  Or stop and have a coffee with those not seen.  So, personally I take this
challenge and will be there for our comrades until my last breath.  We know “22 a Day” is not a success it’s a mission.  So our Auxiliary and MOC
members have to step up even more so we can reduce these losses.  Our mission is to “Keep
‘em Vertical” so we can “Keep ‘em Smilin’ in Beds of White”.

The Mission is simple:  Each and every Grand,
near and far from the shores of the world along with the Pup Tents and Auxiliaries will be required to complete a minimum of two events that are focused on awareness of the crisis line #988 or the Veterans Crisis Mental Health Support that would lead to the prevention of veteran suicides.

      We want YOU!

Samples
of the Mission!

(1)   Conduct
a phone tree for all those veterans you have not seen, reach out to your comrades
you served with and check in!

(2)   Websites
within your meeting place area great social media platform.

(3)   Attend
fairs, community days, or a craft fair with a table, veterans crisis pamphlets
free to all organizations from the Veterans Administration.

(4)   Local
activities such as 5Ks, buddy walks, just to light the brain to vision.

(5)   If you are not sure exactly how to reach out a sample idea came from an auxiliary in the Southern Conference. They placed tags on the candy they handed out at Halloween.  Arkansas put out clear little donation boxes across the state to support the families of those who lost a veteran.  Ditty bags for veterans in crisis can be simple.  Items in the bags we started in 2016; such as a toothbrush, sweat pants, night gowns, slippers , make up and
brush or comb to ease their comfort!

All reports will be sent to the Operation Big Boot chair – Luther Sawicki and to the Supreme Adjutant.

If you are still confused reach out to the Big Boot team chair and support!

Florida Gallinipper Program

OBJECTIVE
The Grand of Florida invites
you to take home your very own piece of Florida sunshine through the Gallinipper Program. Join the lousy league of Gallinippers and sport our crummy
badges with pride! “Gallinipper” is a pejorative term for the irritating mosquitoes that plagued Old Florida’s “Crackers” while they herded their cattle
through the swamps. Our Gallinipper-Cooties have tamed the wilds, however, and may be observed riding (or otherwise annoying) distinctive Floridian wildlife.

MISSION
The Grand of Florida uses the
money raised through its Gallinipper Program to support the Florida BBQ Picnic during the week before Cootie Christmas at the VFW National Home. The Grand of Florida has sponsored this Picnic for the families and staff of the National
Home since 1974, and through the Gallinipper Program will continue to do so until Florida runs out of mosquitoes. And that will never happen!

MEMBERSHIP
Membership is available in three levels, which may be purchased at any time and in any order. Each pin
comes with a distinctive certificate acknowledging your support for the Grand of Florida.
Membership is open to all VFW and Auxiliary members, MOC and
MOCA members, Friends, Families, pets, and unsavory acquaintances.

All prices include $7.00 for a
Shipping and Handling Fee. All pins and certificates are sent via USPS 2-Day
Ground Advantage. If multiple pins are purchased at once, only one S&H
fee of $7.00 is required. (For Example: Purchasing 1 Manatee Marauder, 1 Friendly Flamingo, and 1 Goofin’ Gator costs a total of $67.00)

Level 1: Manatee Marauder – For only $27.00 you’ll float slowly into battle against your enemies atop one of Florida’s most ferociously lovable floating blobs of seagrass.

Level 2: Friendly Flamingo – For $27.00 you can bring smiles to your Comrades, the Cooties around you, and the Children and Families of our National Home from the back of a perfectly pink,
flamboyant Flamingo.

Level 3: Goofin’ Gator – For a mere $27.00 you can climb to the apex of Florida’s ecosystem and confuse analligator with your lousy antics alongside your fellow Cooties.

Make checks and money orders
payable to the “MOC Grand of Florida” and send them with your application to
the Florida Gallinipper Chairperson:

The MOC has issued a special medal as a fund raiser for the organization. During the Crusades the first knights to enter the Holy Lands opened a hospital. They were named Hospitalier Knights. Later the Knights moved to the Island of Malta. They were than named Knights of Malta. Thus the Cross of Malta was formed by placing four lance heads together.

The Cross of Malta was adopted as the official logo of the VFW. Since the MOC is the Honor Degree of the VFW and since the MOC is the order that services the hospitals and cares for veterans and their families, it is only fitting that the medal be named “MOC KNIGHTS HOSPITALIER”.
This medal is on the Cootie Depot store.  Click on one of the following links to view and order one of these special medals:  Bronze ($25.00), Silver ($35.00) and Gold ($45.00)

Red Star Life Member Challenge!

The Red Star Program
 is  Alive and Well!

And...we're still signing up Life Members! If you are a Life Member of our Crummy Fraternity, you may or may not be aware of a program that was started a few years ago.

Back in 2005, Past Supreme Commander Tom Tweet proposed a program to help out the Supreme organization.  Past Supreme Commander Tweet mentioned that when the U.S. Mint replaces a semi-destroyed dollar bill, it re-issues the serial number, but places a little star in front of the serial number.  He suggested that we start a similar program: the Life Member would have their Life Member number re-issued on a new gold-colored card, and a red star would be placed in front of the Life Member number, signifying a second donation had been made to help the MOC.

So, which Grand,  or Pup Tent has the most Red Stars?
Check out your Grand or Pup Tent and get on the Leader Board!

All Red Star Life Members receive a 5% discount on the Cootie Depot.
